About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

About the Role
The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders within the Delivery Portfolio, platform squads, value stream and BAU activities to define the scope of testing, identify test scenarios and opportunities for automation, developing and executing functional test cases and managing defect triage processes. Taking on a proactive role, the Senior QA Analyst will work closely with Developers, Business Analysts and Business stakeholders in ensuring that designs and solutions built meet business needs and are of high-quality standards.
The Senior QA Analyst will be an expert in the testing domain in which he/she operates and will provide consultative advice to stakeholders as required. The Senior QA Analyst will support Project Managers, Scrum Masters and wider Project Team members in the completion of project tasks and deliverables that relate to testing activities, e.g., analysis, planning and estimates.
The Senior QA Analyst will also be a key contributor to the QA Practice and play an active role in sharing knowledge and skills with other QA Analysts.
About You
To be successful in this position, you’ll have, as a minimum:
Provide QA perspective and expertise during solution design phase, ensuring systems and solution are designed and built for quality, longevity and operability whilst meeting the requirements of the business stakeholders, customers, and ITS supporting teams across both Agile and Waterfall initiatives, ensuring fit-for-purpose QA processes that provide value and enhance the quality of solutions.
Identify test prerequisites and test risks early to accommodate fulfilment and mitigation.
Create and review test strategies, test plans, test scenarios and test cases across the delivery lifecycle including project work, enhancements and BAU work to provide QA coverage on system, integration, end-to-end/SIT testing.
Execute test scenarios and test cases, both manual and automated, across the development lifecycle.
Demonstrate a proactive approach and comprehensive experience in identifying, replicating, reporting, triaging, and tracking of software defects, ensuring defects are well understood and addressed in a timely manner.
Coordinate and provides guidance on User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities including assisting in facilitating QA workshop, test execution, demonstration of the solutions, defect management and test support.
Produce Test Summary Reports (TSR) and sprint test status updates, demonstrating test coverage, residual defects, and overall quality reporting.
Collaborate with Developers, Release Managers and DevOps Engineers to embed QA activities within CI/CD pipelines.
Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to both framework enhancement and automated test development as required.
Assist the QA Manager for Ad Hoc testing duties.
SAMS domain knowledge would be a bonus.
