Description
Position Purpose:
The Administrator, Group Sales serves as liaison to customers, agents, agencies, group leaders, marketing, underwriting, and operations to ensure appropriate documentation is received for accurate and timely processing. Verifies all group submissions are in compliance with BCBS underwriting rules and regulations.
Logistics:
This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm working on-site at 4101 Percival Rd. Columbia SC, in an office environment.
What You Will Do:
- Review all forms/documents for completeness.
- Contact agents/groups for needed information.
- Verify coverage benefits.
- Key group and member information into enrollment system.
- Perform initial underwriting review using medical rater program.
- Request necessary medical records.
- Submit packages to underwriting.
- Run alternate proposals through Accel-a-rate proposal system.
- Review rating for workers' compensation and out of state employees.
- Retrieve claims history information.
- Acquires necessary approval from Companion Life.
- Handles inquiries from agents, group leaders, and customers.
- Works closely with agents, agencies, and sales representatives to determine if additional training is necessary based on quality of groups submitted.
To Qualify for This Position, You Wil Need:
- Education: Associate's
- Degree Equivalency: 2 years job related work experience
- Work Experience: 2 years small group marketing, membership, underwriting, and/or customer service.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Good judgment skills.
- Effective customer service and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
- Analytical or critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Software and Tools: Microsoft Office.
What we Prefer you to have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree- Marketing, Business Administration, communications, or related field.
- Knowledge of Accelerate/My Business Manager.
- Working knowledge of database software.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access or other database software.
Work Environment: Typical office environment.
