In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

Under the direct supervision of the Department Coordinator and broad
supervision of the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies, the Project
Assistant will serve the Graduate Studies (GS) Division, providing administrative
support and carrying out other responsibilities delegated by the Department Coordinator.

This job requires federal work-study eligibility and U.S. domestic status.

Timeframe:

  • Potential to start during the spring 2025 semester. Must be available to start in the summer semester and continue in the fall & spring semester.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support for GS including: research, database management, and communications;

  • Provides operational support for Graduate Studies events, including Fall Graduate Orientation and Graduate Commencement;

  • Serves as primary clerical support and performs clerical routines with multiple steps;

  • Manages schedules in Google Calendar;

  • Assists the Department Coordinator with office management tasks;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with administrative and general office support;
  • Experience working with office equipment;
  • Ability to work independently, follow through on assigned projects and tasks, and make sound judgements;
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills to work with all levels of college staff and administration, as well as with external contacts professionally and confidentially;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Advanced typing or word processing;
  • Strong knowledge of database, word processing, and spreadsheet applications required;
  • Proficiency with Google Drive;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); 
  • Experience with Mac OS X;
  • Experience with video editing and recording.
