Job Description

Job Summary:

Invesco Senior Secured Management (“ISSM”) is seeking am entry level credit analyst to join its broadly syndicated bank loan team. ISSM is a $40bil private credit platform and a subsidiary of Invesco Ltd., an independent asset manager with $1.3 trillion in assets and more than 8,000 employees worldwide. The position will be located in either New York, Chicago or Denver.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work with Senior Analyst and/or Team Leader to build up knowledge of the leveraged finance and high yield bond markets. Learn to analyze investment opportunities and make investment decisions within those sectors.

  • Develop credit analysis and financial modeling skills alongside senior analyst to assist in the preparation of credit proposals to include company and industry analysis, capital structure analysis, cash flow projections, evaluation of collateral adequacy, management, lead lender and sponsor quality along with a view on local restructuring regimes.

  • Assist in the on-going monitoring and review of existing transactions including historical financial analysis, cash flow modeling and projections, industry analysis and assessments and review of internal and external ratings. Build and maintain quarterly financial projection models.

  • Assist in providing timely updates to senior members of the team on financial results and developing credit situations.

  • Assist senior analysts in making on-going buy/sell/hold decisions thru identification of relative value opportunities and when required, assisting in the workout of distressed situations.

  • Periodically participate in management meetings, investor conferences and other events to develop industry and company specific knowledge.

  • Develop relationships and maintain dialog with company management teams, rating agency, sell-side and fellow buy-side analysts to develop investment perspectives.

  • Assist in the review senior secured loan and high yield bond documentation for new transactions and amendments

  • Participate in in-depth discussions with Syndicate Desks, Sell side Analysts and Private Equity houses on primary and secondary investment opportunities.

  • Build up a network of contacts within the peer group to help assess market sentiment on amendments and new deals.

  • Maintain existing electronic credit files, compliance reports, collateral positions, and updated exposure reports.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 0-2 years’ experience

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word and Bloomberg

  • Basic financial modeling and financial statement analysis skills

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Logical thinker with ability to “connect the dots”

  • Ability to distil key information from wide data set.

  • Aptitude for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling skills

  • Ability to work independently and follow through on projects

  • Self-motivated, ability to quickly complete tasks upon assignment

  • Organizational skills necessary to meet deadlines, prioritize projects, and multi-task

Formal Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • CFA candidate helpful.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and temperatures. 

  • The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary. 

  • Hours may include evenings or weekends.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

The salary range for this position in New York is $90,0000 - $100,000. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
