Job Details  

The Kirkcaldy Community Development Team and Kirkcaldy YMCA are committed to working with young people to improve life chances through learning, personal development, and active citizenship programmes. Through our staff teams and volunteers, we will work to support young people to become stronger and more resilient. You will be part of the Kirkcaldy Community Development Team or Kirkcaldy YMCA working in a neighbourhood within Kirkcaldy. Your time will be spent leading a small team of youth workers to plan, organise, evaluate and deliver a range of youth work opportunities and interventions to achieve the national Youth Work outcomes. As well as face to face delivery of Youth Work, you will be responsible for programme planning, completing evaluation and reporting materials and supporting the Community Education Worker in the delivery of learning activities and projects. As part of a team you will plan, deliver and evaluate programmes and activities using the Fife CLD Quality Framework. 

You will be required to undertake Fife Council training to ensure you act in accordance with policy around Health & Safety, Child and Adult Protection and Data Protection.   

You will a key member of the Community Development Team or Kirkcaldy YMCA based in the Kirkcaldy area and will work alongside Community Education Workers and a variety of others. 

The Person  

You must be able to work and communicate successfully with others including Council services and voluntary organisations.  You must have significant youth worker experience and experience of engaging with young people. You should be able to organise and manage a youth work project, all participant information, youth project paperwork with the Community Education Worker. You will be a Team worker and motivator with good communication skills and possess a can-do’ approach. You should be able to provide a regular and effective service.
