About the Job:
The Mill Operator will report to the Mill Supervisor and is responsible for operation and oversight of milling and crushing processes. The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off.
Responsibilities:
- Stop work for safety concerns, and abide by safety best practices, policies and procedures.
- Safe operation of feeders, crushers, conveyors, grinding mills, flotation cells, pumps, slurry flows, sampling, reagents, thickeners, and tools.
- Safe operation of the crushing circuit, grinding circuit, flotation circuit, and thickeners.
- Safe operation of the filtration which includes flocculent mixing and addition and reagent mixing and reagent addition.
- Operate mobile equipment, including but not limited to: rubber tired loader, excavator, rock breaker, track skid steer loader, forklift, and extended boom forklift.
- Observe mill production monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Record operational and production data on specified forms.
- Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using mobile equipment, overhead crane, and hand tools.
- Clean up spillage, and maintains machinery, equipment, materials, and products.
- Complying with all company, state, and federal requirements regarding environmental, safety, and other standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- One year of experience in a process plant.
- Previous experience with flotation and gravity concentration.
- Preference given to Alaska residents.
