This is a shift based role including days and nights

The performance of Aircraft Maintenance tasks, in accordance with company quality and regulatory airworthiness standards and working in conjunction with the Shift Manager to ensure that the operational service meets all the customer’s contractual requirements.

Being an SR is not the same as being in the RAF Reserves, which involves weekday and weekend training, and deploying as a unit to support regular Armed Forces. As an SR you will be deployed in support of Voyager. When not required for military tasks, you will return to your civilian role with AirTanker.

To qualify for SR status you must be British, Irish, part of the Commonwealth or hold a dual British citizenship, be medically and dentally fit, and maintain the required fitness level.

Along with your basic salary, additional benefits of an SR role include 
  • Shift pay £8,190
  • Call out Gratuity - £724.13 (paid quarterly)
  • SR Bounty - £3,618.28 (paid at attestation and then 6 monthly thereafter)
  • Duty Pay £3.61 per hour
Potential Earnings £70,799 (based on 90 days away)

What you'll be doing

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance tasks to the highest standards.
  • Support Certifying Engineers in delivering operational service that meets customer contractual requirements.
  • Undertake short-notice flying tasks and AOG recoveries.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment and ensure proper use of materials and equipment.
  • Represent AirTanker during deployed activities, acting as a key point of contact.


What you'll bring

  • Completed aircraft mechanical/electrical training apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Line/Base Maintenance.
  • Strong team player with the ability to support and collaborate effectively.
  • Experience in short-notice AOG recoveries is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GCIS IT support systems and a commitment to safety and quality.
