As a Shade/Blend Technician, you’ll play a key role in getting our high-performance coatings safely and accurately packaged for our customers around the globe.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work in our production facility alongside a supportive and safety-minded team to:
- Stages material/Semi-manufactured Bases and colorants.
- Sets up batches based on blend tickets
- Makes drawdowns and runs viscosities (adjusts viscosities when needed)
- Tints required batches and adjustments as needed.
- Follows production schedule and completion schedule/hotsheet in order to provide customer satisfaction. Daily completion goal of 95% or better.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Accurately record your work for quality control and tracking
- Collaborate with your crew to solve problems and suggest improvements
- Follow our HMIS safety protocols like a true pro
Other responsibilities:
- Operates pumps, meters, agitators, and tanks as required
- Handles all required raw material according to PPE requirements
- Maintains department records in an orderly condition cycle counts/move sheet
- Assists in taking department inventories when directed
- Always works in a safe and efficient manner that ensures quality
- Properly documents material inputs and time according to batch-ticket requirements. Lot #’s
- Follows company regulations with respect to safety, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment and general housekeeping, and keeps the area clean at all times
- Uses materials, equipment, and facilities in an efficient and conscientious manner according to proper procedures
- Works assigned hours and overtime as required
- Suggests to Shift Lead Person improvements in job methods, equipment, or procedures
- Follows GHA. and PPE Safety Program
- Assists in other departments as required
- Performs duties as required by Lead Person or Supervisor
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is physically strong and can lift up to 100 lbs (bonus points if you’ve got forklift experience!)
- Can work in warm conditions (up to 105°F—we’re tough but safe!)
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail
- Is a team player with a can-do attitude
- Is comfortable using tools and learning new processes
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Willingness to wear PPE (like a respirator) and use equipment like drum dollies and forklifts (we’ll train you!)
Nice to Have:
- Prior manufacturing or shade/blend experience
- Familiarity with batch tickets or labeling systems
- Experience working with industrial coatings or paint
