New Accounts Representative/ Branch Operations Officer

Job Summary:

 The New Accounts Representative/Branch Operations Officer role combines the responsibilities of a New Accounts Representative with those of Branch Operations Officer, providing a dynamic and comprehensive position within our banking institution. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this role involves assisting customers with new account setup while also supporting the smooth operation of branch activities.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

 

New Accounts Representative:

  • Warmly greet customers and guide them through the account setup process, adhering to bank policies and procedures.
  • Organize and maintain customer files with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Enroll customers in various account types, explaining company products, programs, and services.
  • Assist customers with online banking, debit card services, and other account-related inquiries.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Manage risk by identifying and preventing fraudulent activity in customer interactions.
  • Provide relief or assistance to other new account staff as needed.
  • Demonstrate initiative and commitment to continuous learning, adapting to changes as required.

Branch Operations:

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficient functioning and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership to develop and enforce operating procedures for the branch network.
  • Monitor branch performance metrics and implement strategies to achieve sales and service goals.
  • Resolve complex customer issues and complaints, escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies, conducting audits and reviews as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling and conducting staff meetings to keep the team informed and engaged.
  • Facilitate maintenance and repairs of equipment, recommending upgrades or replacements as necessary.
  • Identify training needs and support the development of training plans for branch staff.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the branch's Business Continuity Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by branch management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and manage interruptions effectively.
  • Proficiency in using banking software and computer systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Trustworthiness and integrity in handling sensitive customer information.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or finance preferred.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Previous experience in banking, customer service, or related field preferred.
  • Completion of all required training courses as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on a computer may be required.

 Some travel between branches may be necessary
