GENERAL SUMMARY:
The purpose of this program is to help families manage conflicts with youth who are experiencing mental health challenges and prevent out-of-home placement.
The MHP is responsible for the authorization of services provided to clients/consumers and attesting to their need for said services. This may include, but is not limited to, the need for psychosocial rehabilitation, medical, and/or supportive services to address the desired recovery goals. These services may fall under any program/department. For example: DHHS, CYFS, Wraparound, BHS, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains a high level of integrity & program quality through quality improvement, accreditation, licensing, & internal monitoring processes.
- Participate as a member of the recovery team by attending team meetings, developing rapport with youth and families and their team members, support in assessing and determining the youth and family’s needs and providing clinical recommendations to identify and address barriers to recovery and utilizes the full range of approved services to meet clients' needs.
- Serves as a Clinical Supervisor, providing ongoing clinical supervision and support to staff. Offers guidance in navigating challenging situations and ensure the seamless continuity of care for clients.
- Participates in agency-wide and contract committees, trainings, and meetings.
- Conducts group and/or individual staffing with program staff as required by the contract.
- Attends training and meetings as required by contractor, and/or agency management.
- Provides ongoing client consultation to lead staff and direct service staff.
- Assists as needed with conducting intake assessments, developing community treatment plans, and oversee the intake process, ensuring timely and comprehensive care for all consumers/clients.
- Cultivates and maintains positive and productive relationships with community/contractual partners.
- Ensures accurate and timely dissemination of information to program staff.
- Ensures timely completion of required program/contract documentation.
- Ensures equitable treatment of staff through consistent application of Agency Human Resource processes.
- Assists care coordinators with obtaining diagnosis information from current outpatient providers.
- Available for additional meetings with families/psychoeducation (clinical information on diagnosis, comorbidity, prognosis, treatment)
- Supports the goals, mission and vision of the agency at all times.
- May be cross-trained amongst and provide backup for other programs that require MHP support based on agency needs as well as provides clinical supervision for interns and other agency programs as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Licensed by the state of Wisconsin as LCSW or LPC required.
- Ability to interpret and implement statues related to the program.
- Knowledgeable regarding WI DHS Chapter 34.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple complex tasks, strong professional communication and team work.
- Knowledge of methods of treatment planning and evaluation.
- Ability to display cultural competence and sensitivity to the populations we service by responding respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, socioeconomic characteristics, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, and other diversity factors.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and liability insurance.
- Ability to use vehicle for work related duties according to the agency’s insurance liability standards.
- Knowledge of generally accepted advocacy and counseling theories or models relative to individual and group counseling strategies, therapeutic recreation, crisis intervention and management, sources of referral; and of matters relative to alcohol and other drug abuse/addiction, parenting and child management, physical restraint, group supervision human growth and development, and human sexuality.
- Able to conduct and interpret assessments such as, psychosocial, psychiatric and psychological evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults.
- Become familiar with current diagnostic testing and criteria for psychiatric disorders.
- Ability to interpret program deficiencies and develop an active plan for improvement as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General office environment/multiple locations to include community sites and client’s homes.
- Travel approximately 50%, including transportation of youth, using Agency’s vehicle(s).
- Rotation of on-call responsibilities.
