Requirements


Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s in Nursing.


Certifications: 

  • Registered Nurse in US State or Territory
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Experience: 

  • One (1) year of Emergency Room experience, as a Registered Nurse, within the last three (3) years.


 

Duties:

  • Provide age-specific inpatient and emergency care in accordance with SOPs, provider orders, and hospital/TJC standards.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, history, and behavioral health evaluations.
  • Administer medications, including critical care IV drugs, immunizations, and conscious/moderate sedation; monitor effects and apply reversal agents when needed.
  • Execute a wide range of clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy, wound care, culture collection, EKGs, IV access (PICC, ports, etc.), and airway management.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including CODE participation, cardiopulmonary arrest, and neonatal resuscitation.
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment, including ventilators, BEAR Hugger, Rapid Infuser, Fluid Warmer, and glucose monitors.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing (e.g., urine HCG, ISTAT, blood gases) and assist with pelvic exams, sterile procedures, and patient isolation protocols.
  • Document care and manage patient flow using EMR/EHS systems; assist with appointment setting and front desk tasks as needed.
  • Maintain clinic readiness, including room setup, specimen handling, equipment cleaning, supply management, and waste disposal.
  • Complete all mandatory trainings, maintain a competency file, and coordinate with Providers, COR, and leadership on patient care and clinic operations.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
