Position Summary

The Deduction & Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing customer invoice deductions, chargebacks, and compliance-related activities to ensure full payments are received and customer expectations are met. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, resolve issues, reduce compliance offsets, and manage invoice deductions efficiently.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, review, and research customer deductions and chargebacks in the Payor Portal and compliance exposure via the SPM tool. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, distribution, finance, and customer service) to resolve disputes and recover invalid deductions.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to minimize compliance violations.
  • Maintain documentation of deduction disputes, resolutions, and all related communications/tickets for future reference.
  • Monitor customer compliance requirements and ensure internal processes align to prevent chargebacks.
  • Participate in monthly update calls with distribution and relevant teams.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards on deduction trends, root causes, and financial impact for leadership review.
  • Partner with Accounts Receivable to ensure that contract terms, discounts, and other deductions are applied correctly and ensure that net payouts are not delayed by unresolved shortages.
  • Support financial and compliance inquiries and help with escalations.
  • Work closely with our main contact at ISS for updates and process training, including Payor Portal and SPM tool.

  

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in deductions management, accounts receivable, compliance, or a related financial/operational role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Familiarity with retail compliance processes is a plus.
