ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Ensures environmental safety and quality care.   
  2. Gathers perioperative surgical supplies.
  3. Selects, prepares, and administers medication according to MD preference/orders.
  4. Monitors asepsis in the perioperative area.
  5. Monitors patient condition perioperatively.  
  6. Assists with laser surgery patients including medication administration and ensures proper equipment function. 
  7. Confirms pre & post-op, laser, and intra-operative instruction/Dr. orders (including medications, supplies, and special instructions) within assigned area.
  8. Communicates changes with administration for policy and procedure.
  9. Communicates with the leadership team daily to ensure an efficient perioperative work environment to include communication regarding problems, questions, scheduling, and creative ideas.
  10. Manages family/patient education.
  11. Conducts telephone interviews for pre-operative history and consultation.
  12. Performs Scrub Technician duties as required.
  13. Practices standard precautions.



Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • RN License – Washington State 
  • BLS Certification upon hire 
  • ACLS Certification (If fulltime) 


PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing 
  • Ophthalmic Experience in a surgical setting
