The Pizza Cook will be responsible for preparing pizza dough, assembling pizzas with various toppings, operating pizza ovens, and ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency in pizza preparation. This role is integral in supporting kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety standards.
Requirements
1. Exemplify the Tommy’s Tavern + Tap Culture| Dedicate oneself to delivering GREAT guest service, consistently going above and beyond for both guests and team members.
2. Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to recipes and standards.
3. Ensure consistency and quality in pizza preparation, baking, and presentation.
4. Follow portion control guidelines for dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings to minimize waste.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pizza station and ovens.
6. Assist in the setup and breakdown of the pizza preparation and baking stations.
7. Monitor pizza ingredients inventory levels and report shortages to the Assistant Kitchen Manager.
8. Conduct regular checks to ensure proper stock and quality of pizza ingredients.
9. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, especially regarding dough handling and oven operation.
10. Implement kitchen safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
11. Ensure pizza ovens and related equipment are cleaned and maintained properly.
12. Team Collaboration:
13. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
14. Assist in training new kitchen staff members.
15. Communicate effectively with team members and management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
- Basic knowledge of pizza preparation techniques including dough handling, topping assembly, and oven operation.
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with pizza ovens, dough mixers, and pizza preparation tools.
- Fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Requires standing for extended periods.
- May involve lifting heavy objects.
