Job Summary: Are you passionate about sharing your love of Nordic skiing with others? At the Eldora Nordic Center, our instructors play a vital role in creating an unforgettable experience for our guests. Whether you're teaching classic or skate techniques or assisting with rental gear, you'll be part of a dedicated team that thrives on fostering a supportive and vibrant community. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Instruct guests in both classic and skate techniques through group and private lessons, helping skiers of all ages and abilities progress at their own pace.
Demonstrate Nordic skills on snow — from warm-ups and drills to technique demos — so guests can see, try, and build their own abilities.
Create a fun, supportive, and safe learning environment where guests feel encouraged and confident.
Provide clear, constructive feedback so guests leave with a sense of progress and achievement.
Adapt to conditions and learners, adjusting teaching style for different experience levels, weather, and snow.
Assist guests with rental gear by guiding them through equipment selection, fitting, and proper use of skis, poles, and boots.
Keep developing your own Nordic skills by participating in our free, ongoing instructor clinics.
Stay connected — instructors must be able to access daily schedules and company notices electronically.
Lead by example in safety, professionalism, and excellent guest service on and off the trails.
All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.
Be part of the team when it matters most — instructors must be available on weekends and holidays during the season.

This position is a seasonal position and may have fluctuations in hours worked based upon overall business volumes.
Specific Job Skills:
High school degree or equivalent.
Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring in any athletic discipline.
Able to demonstrate classic and skate techniques.
Familiar with Nordic ski waxing fundamentals.
Current PSIA-AASI certification(s).
Physical Demands:
Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing.
Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment.
Concentrated reading and writing.
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
Variation in temperature from hot to cold.
Schedule:
Non-Peak Days (M-F): 830AM – 400PM
Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 830AM – 400PM
Non-Peak Days (M-F): minimum 1/week
Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): minimum 14/season
This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits:
The proposed hiring rate of $19+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Additionally, this position accumulates sick time.
