CAMPUS STORE MANAGER

Pace is hiring a Campus Store Manager who plans, organizes and directs the operation of the school’s Campus Store. This position works full-time year-round, with reduced hours in June and July. This role is responsible for all aspects of Campus Store operations, including inventory and sales management, and accounting reconciliations. The preferred candidate will be someone who is energetic, creative, organized, detail oriented, and who is a self-motivated team player. This position works closely with the Auxiliary Programs and Business Office staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes sales of logo gear, merchandise and additional items as needed.
Responsible for stocking merchandise and for all aspects of inventory ordering and control in store and in auxiliary locations for sales during athletics events.
Ensures the store is stocked and merchandise is displayed in an appealing manner.
Keeps detailed records of merchandise received; ensures the data entry of goods received and sold.
Accountable for the monies collected from transactions, including balancing receipts and preparing cash deposits.
Conducts store inventory in compliance with the school’s policies and auditor recommendations.
Coordinates marketing initiatives, including social media presence within the school’s communication guidelines.
Coordinates Campus Store activities with other departments within the school. Provides operating hours during key student, parent, alumni and athletics events.
Coordinates with the Athletics department on team orders as needed.
Coordinates with the Athletics and Business department to assist in management of school concession stands and snack bar as needed.
Interfaces with faculty, administration, students and vendors.
Supports the Director of Auxiliary Programs with special projects as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year prior experience working in a retail management position is preferred.
Knowledge of retail practices and procedures, including those of cashiering, budgeting and accounting, supervision, marketing/retailing, and inventory maintenance and control.
Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the duties described above; ability to plan and organize retail operations to meet operational objectives in accordance with school goals; ability to work effectively with both internal and external constituents, provide excellent customer service and maintain the image of the school.
Ability to work self-sufficiently.
Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends for special events.
Must have strong data entry and computer skills and be a quick learner at new systems.
High school diploma required or combination of education and work experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
Ability to work in a confined area.
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
Light to moderate lifting up to 30 pounds may be required
