Colorado Canine Orthopedics is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional team. Qualifications 
  • Current Veterinary Technician licensing through CACVT/ DORA
  • Certification/Registration (or the ability to obtain) required prior to start date
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a veterinary clinical setting as a Licensed or Registered technician
  • Proficient in time management, problem solving, and multitasking in a calm and effective manner
  • Enthusiastic team player that fosters a professional and positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team dynamic fostering collaboration and mutual respect
  • Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds, and work on your feet much of the day

      Essential Functions
      • Acquiring diagnostic quality imaging including radiography and CT scanning
      • Providing advanced pre, peri, and post-operative care for surgical patients
      • Performing venipuncture to obtain pre-operative bloodwork
      • Administering/monitoring anesthesia to ASA I-II patients
      • Surgical scrub nurse assisting experienced board-certified surgeons
      • Administering sedation to facilitate various minor medical procedures
      • Adhering to sterile technique in a surgical and non-surgical environment
      • Precisely calculating and filling prescriptions
      • Properly handling, preparing, and submitting lab samples  
      • Willingness to adapt to current up-to-date techniques in veterinary medicine

Our dedicated assistant team and client care representatives handle specific tasks, allowing our RVTs to focus on patient care. As an RVT, you won’t be directly responsible for client interactions, instead you will work closely with a team of experienced professionals to provide high-quality care to our canine patients as a priority each day. You will be utilized for your technical skills including anesthesia monitoring, surgical assisting, patient care, and other veterinary technician duties.           Colorado Canine Orthopedics is a state-of-the-art small animal veterinary orthopedic hospital dedicated to providing advanced care to our patients. Our services include ACL repair, fracture repair, joint replacement, arthroscopy, and neurosurgery. Located in the foothills of the Rockies in beautiful Colorado Springs, we are conveniently open Monday through Saturday.           Job Type: Full time, 40hrs (10-hour shifts, 4 days per week varying Monday-Saturday and between 6:50am-6:50pm, varying on unpredictable surgical times. Flexibility is a must.)
          Pay: Up to $28 an hour, dependent on experience
