Stryten Energy is looking for a Respiratory Clerk in our Manchester, IA location. They will be responsible to clean, sanitize and maintain respirators and air helmets on a daily basis. Order new equipment and replace parts as needed, order miscellaneous janitorial supplies as needed. Manage towel room and assist part-time janitor as needed. Perform other work as assigned by Health & Safety Manager or Health & Safety Supervisor.
2nd Shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Mon-Fri)
Starting pay rate $19.28
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to lift and handle up to 25 lbs Requires frequent standing with periodic turning and bending required.
- Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities.
- Required to effectively clean, sanitize and maintain respirators and air helmets on a daily basis.
- Must have organizational skills to enable effective ordering of new respirator equipment and replacement parts as needed and to order miscellaneous janitorial supplies as needed.
- Will be required to manage towel room and assist, or fill in, for janitorial duties as needed.
- Must be able to work safely and comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and fellow workers
- Should have excellent attendance and must comply with the company attendance policy and absence reporting procedures.
- Must adhere to plant policies and procedures depicted in the employee handbook as well as conform to accepted general practices and conduct.
- Follow respirator cleaning as described in procedure SP 5.01. Copy of procedure is maintained in Respirator Room.
- Must maintain clean work area. Will perform daily house cleaning task such as sweeping, mopping, washing, painting, empty waste containers, etc.
- May perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read, write and perform simple math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, average etc.).
Equipment:
Washer, dryer, small hand tools. Must understand safe work procedures and safety equipment.
Protective Equipment:
Must wear personal protective equipment including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields or goggles, latex gloves, hearing protection, and respirator if required by LIA or blood lead list.
Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. This job also has periodic janitorial duties assigned as needed. Ensure allowed cleanup time is properly utilized for cleanup effort.
Facilities/Working Environment:
Will also be exposed to lead in dust form, moving equipment, and other hazards.
Personal Hygiene:
Must be able to follow work instructions and procedures satisfactorily enough to ensure that high blood leads do not lead to medical removal. Adherence to General Policy includes mandatory shower and shampoo at the end of each work shift.
