What you’ll do at Choctaw Casino & Resort

  • Cook a variety of fresh meals using techniques such as char-broiling, sautéing, deep frying, roasting, griddling, and more.
  • Follow standardized recipes to prepare flavorful and visually appealing dishes.
  • Prep ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and peeling fruits and vegetables.
  • Monitor the quality of all food being served and ensure consistent taste and presentation.
  • Taste food before serving and apply appropriate garnishes.
  • Follow portion guidelines to reduce food waste and maintain efficiency.
  • Practice safe food handling, storage, and temperature control.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen space throughout your shift.
  • Assist with setup, service, and cleanup of food stations.
  • Rotate stock and properly label food to ensure timely use before expiration.
  • Complete other culinary tasks as assigned by leadership.

You’ll bring the heat if you have:

  • The ability to read and follow recipes accurately
  • Food Safety and ServSafe Certifications
  • At least 2 years of experience as a broiler/sauté cook in a high-volume, upscale kitchen
  • Proficiency in various cooking methods from griddling to poaching
  • A commitment to culinary excellence and delivering a great guest experience

Add a little extra flavor with:

  • Experience in casino, resort, or fast-paced restaurant environments
  • A strong sense of timing, multitasking, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

You will cook food by char-broiling, poaching, deep frying, pan-frying, sauté, roasting, griddling, and par-cooking. Monitor quality of food being served. Prepare multiple ingredients including washing, chopping, slicing, and peeling of fruits and vegetables. Follow standardized recipes and methods to prepare meals that are cooked, tasty and visually appealing You will taste food before serving and provide garnishes for food plates. Follow established food preparation procedures and converted portion guidelines to control waste levels. Practice proper food storage and follows suitable food serving temperatures. Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment by practicing proper housekeeping procedure cleaning while working. Set-up, service, and clean-up of food production. You will rotate stock to ensure usage and disposal occurs before the expiration date. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Qualifications

You will read and follow recipes Food Safety Certification Serve Safe Certification Proficient in the following cooking techniques: Char-Broiling, poaching, deep frying, pan-frying, sauté, roasting, griddling, and par-cooking Two (2) years of experience as a broiler/sauté cook in a high end, high volume restaurant.
