Position Summary

Ashley Addiction Treatment is seeking a dedicated PRN Registered Nurse for night shift coverage. In this essential role, the RN provides compassionate, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients in both detoxification and rehabilitation settings. The RN will assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive health outcomes in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications following the 5 Rights (Right patient, medication, dose, route, and time)

• Manage withdrawal and medical emergencies using clinical protocols and equipment (e.g., Glucometer, Breathalyzer, Emergency Medications)

• Perform accurate physical and psychological assessments during detox and rehabilitation

• Develop and document individualized treatment plans

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols; report incidents as required

• Support safety and crisis interventions, including patient contracts for safety and management of aggressive behavior

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of care

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

• Licensure: Active RN license in Maryland (or compact state)

• Certifications: Current BLS certification required

• Experience:

  • 1 year of acute care nursing preferred

  • Experience in addiction treatment or psychiatric nursing highly desirable

• Skills:

  • Ability to document in electronic health records

  • Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking

  • Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with substance use disorders

Work Conditions

• Must be available to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

• This is a critical, essential position—staff must report in accordance with organizational needs
