Hybrid Registered Nurse (RN) - Infusion - Full Time - Day - Mullica Hill bei Inspira Health

MAJOR FUNCTION:

An RN in the infusion suite must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and condition of the patient.  The nurse must have knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the emotional needs of the patient and family from early adulthood to the end of the life span.  The RN must use this knowledge to assess the physical and emotional needs of the patient/family and develop a plan of care which incorporates these principles.  The RN must have the ability to implement the plan, to supervise others with the implementation and assess its effectiveness utilizing the nursing process, evidence-based guidelines and be knowledgeable of the policy and procedures of the department.

The infusion RN will work with intravenous therapies and vascular access.  The infusion RN is expected to be an expert in the care of central lines, including but not limited to, PICC lines, Hickmans, and Implantable ports. The infusion nurse must also be proficient in peripheral blood draws and peripheral IV insertion. The infusion RN will specialize in giving intravenous therapies and have extensive knowledge and background that includes but not limited to, multi-modal chemotherapy regimens, biotherapy treatment, IV antibiotic administration, blood product transfusions and injections.  The infusion RN will also have extensive knowledge and experience in symptom management, managing side effects to treatment and knowledge of home care instructions related to the various treatment modalities given. The infusion nurse will also be knowledgeable in would care including but not limited to wound vacs and dressing changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• You must be enrolled in a BSN or MSN program from an accredited school of professional nursing within six months of hire or rehire and graduate on or before the third employment anniversary date into a nursing position. *  BSN or MSN graduates preferred
• *Grandfathered Exemption of Educational Requirement: 
• Hired on or before May 31, 2013 -- IMC
• Hired on or before August 4, 2015 – IMCW
• Hired on or before May 31, 2023 – IMCM
• Minimum of 3 years Nursing Experience with experience in Oncology and/or infusion preferred.   

Certification/Licensure:    

• Current registration/licensure with New Jersey State Board of Nursing.   
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certificate preferred.
• BLS required.
• ACLS preferred. 

Knowledge & Skills:

• High quality of nursing competence and basic leadership skills.
