Hybrid Watersheds Fall Intern | Part-Time Temporary bei Greenville Water

Overview: Seeking a motivated Fall Intern to assist with various conservation and sustainability projects related to watershed and reservoir management. The intern will support activities and studies focused on forestry, hydrology, wildlife, and water quality, contributing to environmental protection and sustainability initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience in fieldwork and scientific research, with exposure to multiple aspects of conservation and resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with scientific studies related to water quality, forestry, fisheries, and drought management.
• Support sustainability projects aimed at reducing environmental impact and operational costs.
• Help with grant applications and gather necessary documentation for funding requirements.
• Assist in research and analysis for source water protection and water loss initiatives.
• Perform field measurements and maintain data for various studies.
• Maintain trails, roads, and fire roads in the watershed area.
• Patrol assigned areas, ensuring rules and regulations are followed.
• Complete daily maintenance logs and assist with routine equipment repairs.

Requirements:

• College Student or rising Freshman with a strong interest in environmental conservation and sustainability.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to operate equipment safely.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
