Hybrid Research Technician/Field Technician bei Southeastern Louisiana University

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Chemistry and Physics and the Center for Environmental Research invites applications for the position of Research Technician/Field Technician. This position will be involved in all aspects of fieldwork, including driving university vehicles and boats, as well as collecting water and sediment samples associated with a large chemical monitoring project. Applicants must have extensive experience conducting fieldwork and should be skilled in driving, launching, and trailering boats. The chosen applicant also will be involved in data entry, and calibrating pollutant real-time sensors, as well as general laboratory tasks and equipment maintenance as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Chemistry, Biology, or related field from an accredited university by hire date
Experience operating boats

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MS in Chemistry, Biology, or related field from an accredited university
Experience operating boats, conducting field work, and equipment maintenance and upkeep
Ability to carrying 20 or more pounds work in extreme weather conditions
Experience in environmental data collection
