KP is looking for a Digital Press Operator. The Digital Press Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of all digital presses and related production equipment at our Renton, WA facility. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Performs standard and complex set-up, maintenance and operation of digital press, optimizing press for maximum efficiency, including compliance with equipment specifications, safety and company procedures.
• Reviews job instructions and coordinates job requirements internally and client specifications to ensure the highest quality of work. 
• Perform press checks including effective and clear communication with program managers, sales representatives and customers.
• Mentor and train staff on all digital presses and related production equipment.
• Help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for job related functions, processes, and recommend method efficiencies and process improvements
• Operates digital presses and production equipment according to safety policies, procedures and safety rules, including the use of appropriate safety equipment. Maintains safe working environment at all times.
• Participates in safety training program.
• Reviews safety data sheets (SDS) for products used in work assignments; stores, labels, handles and prepares chemicals for disposal according to state and federal hazardous waste handling regulations.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Education, Experience and Training (Knowledge):

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with digital presses including how to start, prepare and adjust color, understand printing requirements, have knowledge of safety regulations including safe use of equipment and chemicals.
• Computer skills sufficient to interface with digital equipment and print files.
• Strong Verbal and written communications to follow job instructions, SOP’s and safety rules; effectively communicate with KP employees and customers.
• Reviews all work carefully for completeness and accuracy before signing off and passing through; pays close attention to details.
• Identifies problems and notifies appropriate personnel and manager in a timely manner.
• Strong Interpersonal skills to get along and work effectively with others.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot machine issues and take actions
• Ability to lead and work in a team environment; helps and supports all employees; shares expertise with others.
