Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced MEP Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to support the build-out of a new hyperscale data center in Cedar Rapids, IA. In this role, you’ll act as an extension of the owner’s team — ensuring that all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems are installed per design, code, and project standards. You’ll be boots-on-the-ground, actively performing QA walkthroughs, facilitating inspections, and verifying that the project is progressing in alignment with quality and schedule expectations.

This is a full-time, site-based role with a project start target of early August.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular field QA inspections across all MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.)
• Review MEP installation work for compliance with construction documents, specifications, and industry standards
• Collaborate closely with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and owner’s team to track quality-related progress and issues
• Support the development and maintenance of QA checklists and field reports
• Identify, log, and follow up on non-conformances (NCRs) and corrective actions
• Participate in MEP system walkdowns and turnover documentation reviews
• Coordinate with the commissioning team during pre-functional and functional testing phases
• Support the owner’s goals for safety, quality, and project execution

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in MEP systems QA/QC, field engineering, commissioning, or construction management
• Strong understanding of MEP trades, building systems, and construction practices
• Prior experience on data center or mission-critical projects preferred
• Familiarity with QA documentation, punchlists, and inspection processes
• Comfortable with tools like Bluebeam, Procore, BIM 360, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA
