We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join our team, ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to grow their expertise in data management and research. This role focuses on data handling, analysis, and insights that inform strategy and decision-making, with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, clean, and manage datasets for research projects.
- Collect, clean, and organise datasets from various sources.
- Conduct data analysis and generate meaningful insights to support business decisions.
- Generate graphs and other meaningful insights based on the data including written explanations
- Create, update, and maintain reports, dashboards, and tracking tools (primarily in Excel, with exposure to other tools).
- Support business units with ad-hoc data queries and reporting needs.
- Support researchers with quantitative elements of studies.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to align data work with research objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data processes.
Requirements:
- BCom in IT, Data Science, Statistics, or related field (Undergraduate or Honours).
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, charts).
- Basic understanding of data management principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred (but not essential):
- Exposure to research methodologies.
- Exposure to data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience or coursework in basic programming (Python, SQL).
