The maintenance manager is responsible directing, managing and execution of the maintenance projects, initiatives, and daily maintenance activities for the facility.This role manages the preventive maintenance programs and holds responsibility of managing the equipment and spare parts assets.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Acts as a EHS Champion for his team and the facility by partnering with the operations teams in driving the EHS initiatives in the facility.
  • Implements of preventative/predictive maintenance programs using FMEA, RCFA and RCM to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
  • Works with engineering to propose equipment and process modifications to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Plans equipment maintenance and monitor on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Develops routine inspections to monitor conditions and identify/prevent failures and take ownership of evaluation of findings as well as undertaking necessary corrective actions.
  • Implements and integrates general and specific safety procedures and instructions within all maintenance activities.
  • Reviews and analyze critical spare parts inventory and adjust reordering levels accordingly.
  • Ensures all critical maintenance tools & devices are kept and maintained in orderly fashion.
  • Develops budgets, estimating labor and materials required to properly maintain and improve the preventative maintenance of the plant and operate within the budget.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce all maintenance-related expenses primarily from reducing unscheduled breakdowns and equipment failures.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required or
  • Certificate from a recognized trade school in Industrial Maintenance


EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three to five years of experience in cement or related heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in using and applying maintenance tools, including root cause failure analysis, vibration monitoring and oil analysis.
  • Three years of prior experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with project management a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, customers and the general public. Production managers must be able to speak with employees, other department managers and senior management.
