Rhode Island Energy, a PPL Corp compant, is lookiong for a Supervisor, Resource and Work Coordination.This position oversees the company’s electric and gas resource and work coordination processes and functions within the Work Management organization to ensure productivity and quality delivery in support of company workplan metrics, including work readiness, resource availability and allocation of resources that are critical to work progression and meeting the company’s financial and strategic objectives. This position oversees a team of approximately 8-10 management employees and 2 union employees. This position serves as the company liaison, and interacts closely with external permitting agencies, to secure the prerequisites necessary to execute workplan activities. This position is responsible for ensuring all prerequisites are met, including the accurate submission and approval of road opening permit requests, to produce a portfolio of high-value shovel ready work for internal and contractor resources across electric and gas operations. Ensures successful execution of the capital workplan, delivery of customer driven work, and regulatory mandated programs. This includes tracking, scheduling, and target dating of all planned work to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements across the annual workplan portfolio.
Responsibilities:Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Develop a strategy and plan that connects established workplan objectives with available resources across a large and diverse internal and contracted workforce.
- Responsible for coordinating and scheduling capital and Opex work to available Operations resources, in a timely and efficient manner, and ensuring the work is completed in accordance with internal and regulatory timeline requirements.
- Monitor compliance dates and ensure work is completed withing prescribed regulatory timeframes.
- Develop metrics and monitor performance related to work readiness, scheduling effectiveness, and target date attainment across a broad portfolio of work.
- Monitor and manage work progression to ensure customer and stakeholder needs are met.
- Effective management of the road opening permit process necessary for work package creation and successful execution of critical workplan activities
- Ability to interact effectively with public officials and influence outcomes that enable work progression.
- Identify and manage risks that may impact resource utilization and/or workplan delivery.
- Engage, enable, and develop direct reports by communicating regularly, setting clear expectations, and delivering strong performance against objectives.
- Understand bargaining agreement language necessary to effectively manage the team and process
- Identify opportunities and implement strategies that increase productivity by creating efficiencies and/or resource capacity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of related work experience.
- Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing a team comprised of management and bargaining unit employees.
- Previous utility experience or knowledge of utility operations preferred.
- Previous experience with process management and improvement.
