The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Emergency Department at Holton Community Hospital plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions, ensuring timely and effective treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies. The APRN collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that optimize patient outcomes. Additionally, the role requires maintaining meticulous documentation, adhering to hospital protocols, and participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives. Ultimately, the APRN contributes to the overall mission of Holton Community Hospital by providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports the health and well-being of the community served.

Requirements

• A Masters Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License in the State of Kansas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Must have current NRP, PALS or ENPC and TNCC certifications (or be willing to obtain them).
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a rural or community hospital setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in emergency care.
• Advanced training or coursework in mental health crisis intervention.
