Summary Job Description
Direct Relief is seeking an experienced, strategic fundraising professional to join its Partnerships & Philanthropy team as Manager, Digital & Community Fundraising. This role is responsible for engaging influencers, content creators, peer-to-peer fundraisers, and digital communities to build sustainable fundraising relationships with Direct Relief in support of the organization’s global mission.
The ideal candidate will be a relationship-oriented fundraiser with proven success in digital fundraising. The role requires managing a large portfolio of fundraising partners, and deep experience managing campaigns across a spectrum of social media and third-party fundraising platforms to reach a diverse community of donors. The successful candidate will be adept at developing and growing relationships online and in person, helping supporters activate their own networks, and ensuring that Direct Relief maintains an inspiring and consistent presence across digital touchpoints.
Working cross-functionally with internal teams, this role will contribute to content strategy, supporter journeys, and platform performance to maximize campaign visibility, participation, and impact. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sustain, identify and develop long-term relationships with new and existing mission-aligned digital advocates and peer-to-peer fundraising champions, transforming their passion for Direct Relief’s mission into a sustained source of significant financial support among a loyal community of ambassadors.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with key influencers, content creators, and community leaders across digital and traditional platforms, establishing Direct Relief as the preferred charitable partner.
- Expand Direct Relief’s digital footprint by establishing meaningful presence on established and emerging fundraising platforms and affinity-based digital spaces. with high engagement potential.
- Represent Direct Relief at strategic events, conferences, and community gatherings to expand digital engagement and creator partnerships.
- Drive cross-departmental collaboration to develop innovative content strategies, storytelling assets, and engagement tools that inspire action and deepen supporter loyalty.
- Develop content strategy and campaign assets that inspire passionate brand advocacy, sustained engagement, and drive action.
- Contribute to strategic planning in partnership with department leadership to establish ambitious KPIs and operational budgets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to amplify messaging reach and create integrated campaigns that drive visibility, conversion, and revenue.
- Design and cultivate thriving fundraising ecosystems that foster organic growth and sustainable community engagement.
- Build and steward digital communities that mobilize recurring support and long-term advocacy.
- Acquire, maintain, and analyze data on all donor interactions, proposals, and relationship developments to inform tactics and strategy decisions; maintain accurate and complete constituent profiles and records of constituent interactions in the CRM.
- Carry out or assist with other assigned tasks.
Desired Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
- Minimum 4 years of commercial or nonprofit digital community and peer-to-peer cultivation experience with proven success in engagement and achieving ambitious revenue goals
- Demonstrated success in planning, executing, and optimizing multi-channel campaigns including digital and grassroots initiatives
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in fundraising platforms (Classy, Luminate, Raiser's Edge), CRM systems (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge NXT), and data analytics tools
- Expert knowledge of short-form video, livestream commerce, community-based chat platforms, decentralized networks, and emerging digital technologies
- Experience with livestream events and content creation for digital audiences
