Position Summary
Position duties include but are not limited to: Achieving sales and profit goals of parts and service by promoting and selling service programs, preventive maintenance contracts, parts, and additional repair programs within the service territory for the Power Systems Division. The incumbent develops business in an assigned geographic area and ensures those customers are satisfied with MacAllister’s performance. The sales activity’s primary function is to professionally promote the service capabilities and product offerings of Power Systems. Sales activity will include both current contract customers and developing new clients. Additionally, the incumbent will provide assistance to the parts and service department on technical details of the various services quoted.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Formulates and develops service-oriented programs that meet the approval of Caterpillar and prove profitable for the Company.
- Responsible for $1.5M+ in total annual revenue on a consistent basis
- Facilitates a minimum of 1 warm lead/month
- Reviews and updates flat rates and work with the service departments to establish budgets and corporate expenditures.
- Secures and processes all generator parts and service business including prospecting for new business, proactively contacting potential customers, to develop and expand the business and following up with customer.
- Maintains order information and establishes credit between the customer and Power Systems prior to service work being performed.
- Pursues the critical success factors for the application, distribution, and satisfaction of the customers’ needs for service programs relating to generators, industrial and marine engines.
- Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with Caterpillar, their field representatives, and all Product Support personnel to support the service programs and achieve overall goals.
- Initiates and completes reports and other associated paperwork detailing customer calls sales activity using a CRM etc.
- Develops and updates a customer list for mailings and maintains a customer quote log using a CRM.
- Develop and maintain Customer Support Agreements (CSA’s)
- Create custom incremental parts and service quotes for customers.
- Other related duties and projects assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No formal responsibility for supervising others.
Position Requirements
Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 year of sales or account management experience
- Ability to travel- day (50%-80%) overnight (10% or less)
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Strong desire to meet or exceed territory goals and customer satisfaction with a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar software programs or related programs
- Ability to operate and understand the use of a personal computer
- Knowledge of Caterpillar parts and service and how they can be integrated
Preferred:
- A technical degree, technical training or technical background would be helpful

Other Requirements of Position
- Works under close supervision. Employee may act independently for reoccurring assignments, but supervision is readily available for unfamiliar situations or problems.
