We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives under pressure, takes ownership of their work, and is committed to delivering exceptional results for both teammates and customers.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What you’ll do
- Master the Product Line
Develop a deep understanding of Sly’s complete product portfolio, design standards, and application methodologies. - Project Evaluation & Scope Development
Analyze customer specifications and engage directly with clients to identify design requirements, technical constraints, and system needs. - System Design & Equipment Selection
Determine optimal equipment, filter media, and system components, including any necessary ancillary equipment, to meet project-specific criteria. - Proposal Development
Create comprehensive project proposals detailing the scope of work, design parameters, deliverables, pricing, schedule, and any technical or commercial exceptions. - Project Execution Leadership
Act as the Project Engineer and/or Project Manager for awarded contracts originating from your proposals, ensuring seamless handoff and execution. - Start-Up & Troubleshooting Support
Provide technical assistance during system commissioning, including start-up and troubleshooting support, to ensure proper functionality and client satisfaction. - Sales Support
Provide technical and project-related support to the Sales team as required. - Client & Representative Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, sales representatives, and prospective customers through ongoing communication and support. - Travel Occasionally
Take domestic business trips, 3-5%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. Candidates with relevant work experience who are actively pursuing a degree or have equivalent technical backgrounds will also be considered.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude for understanding industrial equipment and process design.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage cross-functional projects effectively.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with internal teams, external representatives, clients, and prospective customers.
Qualifications that are a plus
- Prior experience in dust collection, and/or quoting capital equipment, particularly in air pollution control systems.
