Description

General Summary: Primary responsibility will be to contribute to the manufacturing process by completing tasks assigned by shop foreman and management. Some tasks will include moving materials, shop cleaning and organization, assisting trained operators with routine tasks, drilling/tapping holes, etc. This role is designed to require no experience or particular skillset and is an entry-level role to evaluate and train employees.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Assist other skilled/trained employees in the operation of equipment and tasks
• Handle and transport raw materials, manufactured, and finished products within the fabrication areas
• Operate basic hand and power tools to tap, drill, and otherwise transform product along the manufacturing pathways
• Cleaning/organizing work areas and equipment
• Assembling basic packages needing assembly
• Performing basic quality verifications
• Checking/counting shop materials and products
• Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment
• Work collaboratively with other team members, including welders, fabricators, etc
• Communicate effectively to ensure seamless workflow and project completion
• Follow all company guidelines, (Lockout-tagout, PPE, Bloodborne Pathogens, HAZMAT, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be 18 years old
• Utilize various hand tools and powered equipment as directed
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Description of physical working environment:

• Visual acuity to read and write 
• Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending
• Physical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds on occasions
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a variety of hand tools
