  • Coordinates domestic, shipments ensuring that service commitments are achieved and maintained in accordance with client requirements and company objectives. To accomplish these tasks with the goal of maximizing profitability for Hellmann.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Ensures Crossborder product operations are compliant with internal HWL policies and applicable regulatory agencies.

    • Personally, maintains and is continuously developing revenue and gross profit for domestic key accounts, targets set annually

    • Plans for and utilizes most optimum routing of cargo based on client needs

    • Negotiates most favorable buying rates with approved vendors.

    • Provides all documents necessary to complete customs clearance process. Ensures AES has been filed on southbound shipments by capturing the data on the documents and archiving within our system

    • Receives rate requests and prepares and issues rate quotations externally and internally as required.

    • Advises clients concerning, but not limited to; terms of delivery and payment, transport alternatives or other matters affecting client needs. Educating the client as necessary to establish ourselves as true partners

    • Approves timely and accurately vendor invoices.

    • Trains new and existing staff.

    • Oversees the implementation and monitoring of temperature-controlled logistics to maintain product integrity.

    • Develop and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent and reliable service.

    • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

    • Participates in succession planning for the team as well as oneself

    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including temperature logs, shipping manifests, and incident reports.

    • Audit Preparation: Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

    • Temperature Control: Oversee the implementation and monitoring of temperature-controlled logistics to maintain product integrity.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises up to five full time employees and may supervise temporary employees from time to time based on projects.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement

  • Previous experience in a management position, handling a wide variety of commodities.

  • Minimum ten years in the industry with proven satisfactory track record, operational and/or sales experience

  • Able to route, NFO, over-night, 2day Air and expedited ground shipments

  • Administration of LTL (Less than Truck load) operations

  • Completion of any industry related course is an asset.

  • Northern and Southern Cross Border operations

  • Coaching skills – able to train, coach, and develop subordinates

  • Skills: Strong knowledge of GDP regulations, excellent organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in logistics software.

  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to stand, and walk

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods

  • Regularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone use

  • Speaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contact

  • Requires close-up and computer screen distance vision ability
