Meeting Street is currently looking for an Adapted Physical Education Teacher at The Schwartz School for 16 hours per week. 

Duties:

• Develops and implements developmentally appropriate and motivating adaptive physical education programs for all      identified students as warranted through IEP goals.
• Provides small group, whole class and individualized instruction as needed. 
• Provides individual support and carry-over of skills introduced in the program.
• Completes all assessments and screenings as needed.
• Provides accurate progress monitoring of goals  and all reporting of student progress.
• Creates opportunities and supports student  participation in community-based recreational activities that take place during or outside of the school day.
• Provides instruction and support to students in the therapy pool.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education with certification as a physical education teacher or ability to receive certification within one year of employment.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or ability to get certified within a few months.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certified or ability to obtain within a few months of employment.
• Experience working with children with disabilities.
• Sports/recreation background helpful.
