SUMMARY:
GRR! Sumter has one open salary exempt, Southeast Commercial Sales Manager. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and provides additional oversight, direction, and support to the Commercial Sales Team. This position requires exceptional knowledge and business management experience in the environmental hazardous waste industry. This position requires a team approach to working with sales management as well as other managers within the organization to ensure sales budgets are met or exceeded; gross margins maintained and tracked; average prices are continually maximized; and bottom-line profitability goals are achieved. This position requires travel, and an auto allowance is provided.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Duties: Providing vision and direction to the Southeast Commercial Sales Team to ensure a safety-first, team environment, to achieve and exceed revenue, EBITA expectations, and review accounts receivable goals and market pricing integrity.
Occasional Task (Weekly/Monthly/Annually): Annually assist with budget preparation, face to face meeting with key accounts, making joint sales calls with the Commercial Sales Team, in addition to attending and managing, monthly and weekly calls as required.
- Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions, and campaigns.
- Overseeing and directing the hiring and training of new Sales Representatives.
- Directing and coordinating sales activities locally and regionally.
- Preparing sales budgets and projections and approving expenditure.
- Tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics through Zoho CRM.
- Working with operations, customer service, EH&S, and accounts receivables to resolve customer related issues.
- Managing prices to ensure maximum profitability as well as determining price schedules.
- Increasing the ratio of direct to indirect customers.
- Assisting with the design and oversight of incentive programs.
- Ensure Accounts Receivable remain within terms.
- Call on and manage specific national/ corporate accounts.
- Negotiating agreements with large accounts and key vendors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, business, marketing, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- An exceptional understanding of environmental sales management, sales processes, and dynamics.
- An exceptional knowledge of the hazardous and non-hazardous waste environmental industry.
- A commitment to excellence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers, prospects, vendors, and employees.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Zoho CRM, Knowsys, and other software capabilities as needed.
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
