Position Summary: The Corporate Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering the various employee benefits of the company, assisting employees with benefit enrollment and questions, assisting with all insurance billing, and maintaining databases and files. This role provides administrative support to the Human Resources function as needed, including record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS data entry.

Essential Tasks:
- Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision plans, accident, disability, life, and any other benefit plans offered by employer.
- Assist with the administration and processing of all employee enrollments, changes and terminations, ensuring the accuracy of effective and term dates, benefit coverage approvals, discounts, premiums, etc.
- Processing of required documents, qualifying life events, EOI applications, disability illustrations, etc. through the employees and insurance carriers where indicated, ensuring accurate record keeping and proper documentation.
- Coordinate and communicate with payroll team all benefit changes for any benefit premium adjustments for manual entry.
- Coordinate meetings to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits.
- Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
- Maintain employee benefit system and ensure benefit changes are entered appropriately.
- Process and upload documentation to employee HR file where indicated.
- Process required COBRA reports for new hires, terminations, and dependents aging out and send to the Higginbotham COBRA department.
- Administer COBRA elections systematically within the benefit system and with the carriers.
- Complete miscellaneous benefit reporting requirements, including monthly new hire and termination reports for FLEX, HRA, HSA Bank, etc.

Experience and Education:
- 2 years’ experience in employee benefits preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent
Licensing and Credentials:
- None
Systems:
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Prior experience with HRIS systems
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
- Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
- Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
- Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions
