SUMMARY            

Responsible for ensuring that all activities in the Cage department are performed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with all applicable regulations as well as company standard operating policy and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists Cage Manager with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels by assisting with scheduling and monitoring business levels. 
  • Coaches and guides Team Members to meet department goals and maintain a high level of guest service and internal service standards. Motivates Team Members for continuous improvement though regular communication.
  • Effectively assists in scheduling team to meet business demands and manage labor costs.
  • Interviews, selects, and trains new Team Members.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism by protecting private and proprietary information. 
  • Interacts with guests and team members in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
  • Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Resolves Guest complaints in a timely and positive manner.
  • Administers and maintains accountability for department training programs.
  • Writes and issues accurate and timely performance management documentation including both corrective and positive feedback for members of the Cage team. Ensures timely administration of Team Member evaluations.
  • Supervises, creates Player’s Club accounts, issues, re-prints, and checks the issuance of Player Club cards. 
  • Operates computer, credit card processing equipment, coin sorting/currency counting, and other cashier equipment.
  • Monitors, Maintains, Fills, Drops, and Balances ATM/Kiosk 
  • Stays knowledgeable on current AML and Title 31 requirements and ensures all necessary information is obtained and tracked appropriately. Oversees and ensures Team Members are documenting necessary information appropriately.
  • Resolves Guest disputes regarding player club promotions and events as it relates to their card and financial transactions.
  • Provides coverage for cage cashiers and main bankers, as needed. 
  • Requests and oversees repairs conducted by vendors. 
  • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by Team Members who are under their supervision.
  • Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Must be able to work the required work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to manage business and interact personally with Team Members, vendors and guests.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Ensures all safety standards are met and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related area and one year of supervisory experience preferred. A combination of skill and experience will be considered. Cash handling and guest service experience is required.
  • Previous casino experience, specifically cage cashiering, main banker, and/or vault is strongly preferred. 
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with guests, co-workers, and Team Members in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents. 
  • Must be able to effectively use a computer including Microsoft Office and other job specific software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and act upon complex documents and reports necessary.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required.
  • Must be able to maintain the appropriate Gaming License. 

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • Lifts to a maximum of 40 pounds and frequently lifts up to 25 pounds.
  • Required to stand and walk for a majority of the shift. 
  • Requires frequent pushing plus very frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Requires the manual dexterity to handle/count currency, cash, coin and chips and operate a computer and calculator.
  • Must be able to work in areas with high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Must be able to respond to touch, speech, aural and visual cues.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor.
  • This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed.  Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area.
