Title: Marketing Coordinator

Reports to: General Manager

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Job Type: Full-timeNon-exempt, 32 hours per week

Founded in 2014, Bicycle Transit Systems (BTS) is a woman-owned business with a mission to operate bike share systems that create connections in our communities and protect our planet. We operate and manage a portfolio of bike share systems across the United States, as well as a nation-wide customer service call center. We are currently looking for a dedicated and talented Marketing Coordinator to join our Las Vegas team!

The Marketing Coordinator will be located in Las Vegas and will be responsible for assisting with the execution of the overall marketing strategy for RTC Bike Share. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of Passholder communications, print and digital promotional content, events and activation efforts, and promotions for RTC Bike Share.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Create, schedule and deploy all RTC Bike Share email newsletters and dedicated emails
  • Update website content and design with support of the IT team. 
  • Collaborate with General Manager to create print digital content/designs based around current marketing strategy, brand guidelines, programs, promotions and events.
  • Plan, execute, and track effectiveness of promotions in support of the overall marketing strategy, in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Manage event set-up, tear-down, and follow-ups with event organizers and internal team; and represent RTC Bike Share professionally in interactions with Passholders and the general public.    
  • Assist with marketing communications, events, and other tasks that support marketing objectives and strategies as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Coordinate with client on Marketing items as requested
  • On a limited basis, provide support to RTC Community Engagement and Outreach initiatives.
  • Working with community partners and their events (support) and working with vendors for marketing materials and supplies.
  • Support community partners in events as needed.
  • Work with vendors for production of marketing materials and supplies

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent job-related experience in business, marketing or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in business, marketing, event planning, or related field preferred
  • Experience in the health and wellness, active transportation and/or brand marketing industries preferred
  • Strong organization and project management skills, including the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
  • Superb copy-writing skills and attention to detail (i.e. reviewing drafts and editing copy)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and comfort-level speaking with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter and problem solver
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to thrive in a flexible and constantly changing environment
  • Experience with email communications platforms and social media platforms
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word, and ability to learn new software; experience using Mailchimp or other email management platforms a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe graphic design software a plus
  • Excitement about bike share
  • Sense of humor

Physical Requirements and Special Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • This is a full-time position expected to work 32 hours per week (4 days per week, 8 hours per day). Some hours outside of this, including nights and weekends, may be required.
  • Riding an RTC Bike, occasionally out on the field or in the warehouse.
  • Driver's License required and ability to drive a large working van. 
  • Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a time.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company and department policy.
  • Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or fingers occasionally throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone throughout the workday. 
  • Regular travel within the Las Vegas area and in-person contact with actual and potential clients will be required.
