Overview

We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and service-oriented golf shop assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members and guests, assisting with retail operations, managing tee time reservations, and maintaining the overall presentation of the golf shop.

Essential Responsibilities

• Greet and assist members with a professional and welcoming attitude.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for sales transactions, including merchandise, green fees, and rentals.
• Maintain accurate and organized tee sheet scheduling and check-in procedures.
• Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling to promote merchandise sales.
• Assist with the receipt, tagging, display, and inventory of golf shop merchandise.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the shop, including displays and fitting rooms.
• Answer phone calls and provide information on tee times, tournaments, and golf course policies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling and daily reporting.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent; looking for a summer job.
• Previous customer service retailing experience.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

• Able to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Enthusiastically promote the game of golf.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
