The New England College of Optometry (NECO) prepares the next generation of eye care providers, educators, and innovators through a rigorous curriculum and extensive clinical experiences. The College has its teaching location at 424 Beacon Street, Boston and two owned and operated eye clinics (Boston and Roslindale).

The New England College of Optometry invites applications for a limited part-time faculty position. The qualified applicant will have an appointment in the Principles and Practices of Optometry I course over the Fall term, September 8th - December 8th.  There are no labs the week of Oct. 6th (for Academy), Oct. 20th (for mid-terms) and Nov. 24th (Thanksgiving). Teaching responsibilities include precepting laboratories, grading clinical skill examinations, grading clinical lab reports and guiding students during instructed clinical practice at the Clinical Training Center affiliated with the New England College of Optometry.  Skills taught include visual acuity through intro to retinoscopy. We have lead instructors present and need some extra hands to help us out.

We have openings on Wednesday mornings from 8am-10am and 10am-noon and labs will be held at 424 Beacon Street.

Requirements

At the time of the appointment, the successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.) and have or be eligible to obtain a Massachusetts Optometry License with TPA certification. Preference will be given to candidates with five (5) years of related experience, who have completed an accredited optometric residency or have equivalent patient care and/or teaching experience.
