WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a mud drilling motor assembly and disassembly shop. This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating daily activities, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing shop efficiency. The Shop Manager must have a strong technical background in drilling motor assembly, maintenance and repair, as well as excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
- Manage, supervise, and direct shop personnel in day-to-day activities relating to productivity, attendance, punctuality, quality, safety, and overall attitude
- Manage the entire life cycle of Shop personnel, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, coaching, training, and separation
- Design/develop/implement productivity and cost reduction projects
- Evaluate vendors based on quality of product and cost to ensure that the most prosperous partnerships exist
- Execute the identification, selection, justification, and installation of capital equipment as required for the shop
- Stay abreast of new technology for manufacturing improvements and make recommendations to executive management when appropriate
- Develop/execute the machine maintenance schedule and assign repair task as needed
- Perform the functions and responsibilities of all subordinate roles as and when needed
- Liaise between different departments regarding topics of budgets and/or timescales with managers, sales team, suppliers, vendors, etc., to deliver required product on time
- Act as Project Manager for various projects for topics relating to safety, efficiency, inventory control, and process improvements in shop
- Coach and develop department personnel to see that the company’s policies and goals delivered
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 5-10 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Provides leadership, motivation, and supervision at all employee levels
- Effective multitasking, deadline management, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates sound judgment and creativity in addressing challenges
- Adaptable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Builds strong relationships with vendors, customers, and internal personnel
- Strong organizational and time management skills, adjusting work routines to meet company and customer expectations while maintaining the highest standards of personal conduct
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel domestically, 5% or more
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds
- Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, copier/printer/scanner
- Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day
- Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots and a hardhat
- Operate a motor vehicle per company Vehicle Use Requirements

The Field Account Representative, is a safety-sensitive role. This position involves direct or indirect responsibility for the safety of others, it requires strict adherence to Company’s safety policies and procedures including the Drug and Alcohol policy. Employees are required to immediately report any incidents or factors that may lead to injury, the inability to perform their job safely.
