Freese and Nichols Inc, is looking for a Operations Analyst in Houston, Texas with experience in project accounting with a primary focus on contract review, project maintenance, revenue recognition, and project invoicing.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up of projects in the accounting system, reviewing and maintaining project-related documents, including contracts and amendments, revenue recognition, reviewing and approving timesheets, data analysis, and processing invoices that align with client and contract requirements.
- Assist with training of Group Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and other technical staff in project accounting processes.
- Proactively review pre-developed monitoring analytical tools and skilled in building basic analytic tools to provide PMs, and GMs with data for gaps in target goals and for reporting purposes.
- Conduct required analysis for assigned groups and projects to identify errors and to ensure accurate revenue recognition and WIP management.
- Become technical expert for clients or client types that are complex and/or have specialized requirements (TxDOT, TWDB, Federal, etc.), as assigned.
- Occasional travel between offices is required, as needed
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance role.
- Familiarity with Accounting software.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, initiative, and attention to detail with the capability of working independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related field
