Job Title: SCHOOL CAMPUS MONITOR
Range: 7
SUMMARY
Patrols campus and assures that the area is secured and directs students across intersections and crosswalks. Verifies that all students not in class have a valid pass. Assists clerical staff in the school site office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Patrols campus and assures that the area is secured.
Verifies that all students not in class have a valid pass.
Advise students of school rules, regulations, and proper safety procedures.
Organizes and supervises groups of students assigned to specific tasks.
Assists in supervision of students during scheduled lunchtime events.
Stocks and distributes school supplies from storeroom.
Operates a variety of office equipment.
Reports student’s infractions of school rules and regulations.
Wears appropriate clothing and carries equipment.
Assist with First Aid & CPR.
Organizes and supervises student store as directed by the Site Administrator.
Assists Administrators in training students in conflict management.
Attends required safety trainings.
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities
Knowledge of:
School rules, regulations, and time schedules
Traffic Laws and regulations
District policy and administrative regulations
Child growth, development, and discipline
Training and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience, which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities, listed herein. Two years of work experience working with school age children.
Ability to:
Separate students who are fighting
Maintain a secure and safe campus
Establish and maintain student discipline
Operate a variety of simple office equipment
Maintain effective working relationships with other people
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D. Equivalency
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Valid California driver’s license
First Aid & CPR Certified
