Job Summary

ROLE SUMMARY The instrumental classroom coach participates in various aspects of creating a high-caliber performance ensembles, while supporting the education of students. The instrumental classroom coach will be tasked with instructing students in the various performance aspects of concert band/string orchestra musicianship, and will assist in achieving the concert performance goals set by the Instrumental Music Director via specified roles, which can include, but not limited to, instrument sectionals, ensemble rehearsals, 1-on-1 coaching, etc. The instrumental classroom coach will work with student musicians to master fundamental technical skills, while demonstrating to the students proper playing/performance skills needed to achieve planned concert cycle and event repertoire. The instrumental classroom coach will help ensure the department's mission/vision statement is met. QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced level knowledge of specific pedagogy to assigned sections and the ability to work with high school students Must be willing to instruct/demonstrate performance skills in order to further the learning of the students. Strict attention to professional industry standards. Previous school music coaching experience preferred.
