BASIC FUNCTION: Contact the Santa Clara County Office of education for questions about how to obtain a Substitute Permit. Performs regular teacher’s class plan while the teacher is absent.

Contact the Santa Clara County Office of Education if you need assistance or have questions about qualifications and applying for a substitute permit. -Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials are eligible for long term assignments (working 20 days consecutively in an assignment) -Current TB test (within the last 4 years)

- Must have a valid California teaching permit registered with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (i.e. Emergency Sub Permit for Prospective Teachers, Emergency Career Sub Permit, , Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave)
