- Successfully complete all Radiation Protections initial, continuing and fundamental technician training requirements or waivers. Also maintain OJT qualifications as required.

- Assist with radioactive, hazardous, and mixed waste program.
- Provide E-plan coverage and successfully complete and maintain qualifications.
- Prepare documentation for radiological surveys. Also, status responsibilities to perform the necessary documentation as required.
- Maintain compliance with correct postings of radiological postings or warning devices.
- Exhibit and promote awareness and sensitivity to safety issues and ALARA.
- Provide mentoring and coaching over decon personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management
- Successfully complete all Radiation Protection technician training required including completing and maintaining OJTs.

- Provide E-plan coverage and successfully complete and maintain qualifications.
- When in a Shift Technician position, provide direction and assignment of work activities to other Radiation Protections technicians in-house personnel.
- During refueling outages, when upgraded to HP Master Technician, provide direction and assignments to supplemental personnel.
- Perform Radiation Protection software (HPS) data entry to include RWP creation/revision, Access Control record entry, restriction removal and Dosimetry record entries etc.
- Perform RADS Console Operator duties.
- Perform all aspects in support of the OJT/TPE process.
- Perform RP Shift Technician duties after at least six months' experience at WCGS.
- Job coverage activities involving LHRA, Incore Detector Drives, unconditional releases or survey and decontamination of personnel shall be performed by an ANSI 3.1 qualified HP Technician.
- Coach and mentor Deconner personnel as well as Technician I, II, III personnel.
- Conduct routine and special surveys for contamination, radiation, and airborne radioactivity and operate portable air samplers and instruments to perform various tests and calculations.
- Must be able to work shift hours on a rotational shift if hired after 9/1/2005.
- Perform laboratory work related to tests, surveys, and surveillance activities.
- Become proficient at the operation of radiation protection instrumentation and computer systems used for measurement, storage, analysis, and processing of radiological data and ensure the proper technical responsibilities are completed.
- Prepare reports, log results of surveys, and develop computer-generated reports of technical analysis and status responsibilities to perform the necessary documentation as required.
- Maintain compliance with correct postings of areas due to radiological hazards, including warning devices and exhibit and promote awareness and sensitivity to safety issues and ALARA.
- Become familiar with the work controls process commensurate with the position.
- Perform duties commensurate with the employee's level of qualification in all areas of the Radiation Protection department including but not limited to: Radiation Protection support, Radwaste, ALARA and Operations.
- Support the Radiation Work Permit process including review and evaluation of shielding requirements.
- Perform Temporary Shielding Request evaluations and support the installation and removal of lead shielding packages (TSR).
- Review Paperwork designated by supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.
- This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- The Apprentice II position requires one-year experience as a Technician I in Radiation Protection or an Associates degree in an applicable field and completion of all initial training program tasks.
- The Apprentice III position requires one-year experience as a Technician II in Radiation Protection or an Associates degree in an applicable field with one-year applicable experience.

- The individuals fulfilling the function of journeyman-level Health Physics Technicians shall have three years' work experience in health physics, of which one year should be related technical training.
- The Intermediate RP Technician is ANSI 3.1 qualified as a senior Health Physics Technician and will be filled with external hires.
- The Journeyman Radiation Protection Technician requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent; and must have 1.5 years as Intermediate Radiation Protection Technician. If promoted from the Apprentice III classification, the incumbent must have 1.5 years Health Physics experience at Wolf Creek.
- This position requires the ability to pass a respirator/heavy equipment screening physical.
- This position requires the ability to successfully complete Senior Health Physics exam.
- Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance
