Job Description
- Analyze graduate program data in coordination with the graduate program directors to provide insight for future program changes.
- Work with graduate program directors to create/modify lecture slides from provided notes and book highlights.
- Work with graduate program directors and faculty to convert/develop syllabi for graduate courses utilizing the Simple Syllabus tool.
- Assist the SPS graduate recruiter in developing/executing recruitment presentations for small groups, large groups, and individuals on campus and at events in the local Kansas City Metro area.
- Support marketing efforts for graduate programs, including content creation origination, updates, and support in conjunction with the SPS graduate program directors and recruiter.
- Assist in the development of a graduate program alumni database and an associated process to keep it updated.
- Assist in the development and execution of a graduate student exit survey for each graduate program.
- Participate in meetings within the School of Professional Studies and Admissions.
- Assist in developing long-term strategic program plans in collaboration with SPS graduate program directors.
- Recommend best practices and assist in implementing strategies to increase the number of graduate applications from a wider range of populations in collaboration with the SPS graduate program directors and recruiter.
- Assist in responding to prospective student inquiries via telephone and email.
- Direct prospective students to faculty and program directors as appropriate.
- Identify prospective graduate student needs within SPS.
- Present identified needs to the SPS leadership team.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate a working project to benefit graduate recruitment strategies or graduate curriculum development within SPS.

- Support for ongoing graduate student success efforts.
- Support for SPS graduate graduation celebrations.
- Support outreach to community workforce partners, to include supporting on-campus group visits.
- Other SPS-related initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Enrolled as a degree-seeking KU graduate student in at least 6 hours, or a post-comp doctoral student enrolled in dissertation hours, for the Fall and Spring semesters that the appointment is held and in academic good standing. Summer enrollment is not required.
- Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.
- Experience applying strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to work five days per week. A hybrid schedule that allows for remote work may be planned with your supervisor.
- Reliable access to transportation to the Edwards Campus and local events in the Kansas City Metro area.
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)

- Specialized knowledge related to the position (for example, coursework in any School of Professional Studies graduate program, or any of the following courses: C&T 709 Foundations of Curriculum and Instruction; C&T 803 Differentiating Curriculum and Instruction; C&T 801 Planning for School Improvement; ELPS 756 Data-Driven Leadership; ELPS 781 Introduction to Higher Education; ELPS 883 Student Development Theory; ELPS 885 Assessment & Evaluation; EMGT 824 Product Marketing for Engineering Managers; MKTG 752 Integrated Marketing Communications, or; JMC 820 Marketing Fundamentals).
- Effective oral communication skills to reach a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Office Suite products.
Position Overview
The person in this position must understand and adhere to FERPA and institutional compliance expectations. This position partially supports the educational needs of Johnson County Education Research Triangle (JCERT) programs, funded through a 1/8 of a cent sales tax within Johnson County. Specific percentages of effort for JCERT are determined each year.
Per the State of Kansas, student employees may hold concurrent appointments not to exceed maximum appointment and hours worked levels. However, concurrent student appointments must be of matching FLSA designation (exempt/salaried or non-exempt/hourly).
