Reports to: Glenwood Springs High School Principal
Classification: Certified Exempt - Full-Time (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week) 
Contract Period: 185 working days / 1 year position for the 2025-2026 SY

Position Overview
 

Necessary Credentials

• Bachelor's or higher from an accredited institution in Social Studies, English or a related field of study.
• MUST have an active Colorado Teaching License in Secondary Social Studies, English, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. If additional coursework or a preparation program is required, the applicant must provide proof of enrollment and submission of the required documentation to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) within 30 days of employment.
• Official transcripts must be provided upon hire. For international transcripts, an evaluation is required through a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

• Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
• Strong collaboration skills and cultural awareness.

Physical Requirements 

• May include, standing and walking for extended periods; bend, stoop, and lift materials; reach for supplies on high shelves; use manual dexterity for tasks like writing and using technology; communicate clearly and effectively with students; climb stairs in multi-level buildings.
   

• *$54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relevant teaching experience) *The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE 1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly. Certified Salary Schedule

About Glenwood Springs High School (GSHS)

• GSHS is home to 1000 students, grades 9-12.  It is the largest of four high schools within the Roaring Fork School District RE-1.
