Hybrid Production Engineer, U&R (Skowhegan, United States) bei Sappi

Somerset is currently looking for a Utilities and Recovery Production Engineer to  fully support pulp and paper production.  The utilities and recovery cycle operations are key to Somerset’s overall performance.   This is a great opportunity to be involved in helping the mill achieve maximum production from our equipment and contribute to the mill profitability, in addition to have increased levels of responsibility in the Utilities and Recovery area  over time and the rewards associated with same.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Process engineering experience with kraft chemical pulping process recovery cycle and/or utilities operations.
• Prior shift supervisory or additional responsibility positions in kraft chemical pulping process recovery cycle and/or utilities  operations.
• Transferable process engineering experience and skills that would demonstrate the candidate would be successful in this role.
• Demonstrated performance in supervision of personnel and/or project work.

Performance Objectives

• The successful candidate will be expected to be versed in or quickly learn how to perform mass and energy balances, troubleshoot, track, and improve various aspects of black liquor evaporator and concentrator, chemical recovery boiler, recausticizing, lime kiln operations, and utilities operations including the environmental equipment associated with same.
• As a key member of the Utilities & Recovery department, the successful candidate will interact with all parts of the Sappi organization, internally and externally to recommend, initiate and execute process observations, improvements, and projects. 
• Have the desire to advance to levels of increased responsibility in the Somerset Utilities and Recovery department.
